Domestic Violence

The statistics related to Domestic Violence make alarming reading. Its impact on those targeted by abusers can not be understated.

Coady Consultants Director, John Dooner, is an accredited trainer and has developed packages aimed at Policy Makers, Managers and Supervisory staff across a range of employers. In each case we examine the frequency, types and devastating outcomes of domestic violence aimed at women by men they know. In order to do this we use the "Power and Control" model as a means of contextualising the day to day realities for the targets of domestic violence.

Outcomes:

We want participants to

• Better understand what they should and should not do when a target of domestic violence discloses to them
• Be fully aware of the social, financial and educational impacts of Domestic Violence on families
• Feel more confident in recognising some of the indicators of Domestic Violence
• Leave with a working understanding of the subtle complexities of Power and Control model
• Feel better-placed to contribute to policy development and in-house procedures in their place of work

Programme delivery is negotiable with Customers and is equally suitable for the public and private sectors, its emphasis being on recognising the impacts of Domestic Violence on its targets and their families, whatever the specific context or circumstances.
